Evidence of the widespread, planned and systematic violation of Human Rights in Iran
According to our data, during the period of October 2004 to September
2005, 232 people have either been executed (75 people / 32.5%), have either
been condemned to the death penalty (157/ 67.5%). More over, 76 people
condemned to the death penalty before October 2004, are waiting to be
executed raising the total number of people on the list of our annual
report to 308.
Looking at the list of people who already have been executed, we can
note that:
· 75 cases of execution have been listed. Amongst them, 74 are
men, (two of them political prisoners);
· 43 people (57%) have been executed in public, in 20 different
towns. The city of Mashhad arrives first with 9 executions;
· 14 executions, (19%), took place in Teheran, Iran’s Capital;
· Only in 19 cases, the information on the age of the people who
have been executed was available. Amongst them, there was one person under
18 years of age, 10 people between the ages of 18 and 30 and 8 people
between the ages of 31 and 50;
· The identities of 4 people have not been revealed.
With regard the people who are waiting to be executed, the following
points need to be underscored:
157 cases (67%) have been identified where 17 (11%) are woman. Among the
men, 5 are political activists;
In 82 cases, the information on the age of the people waiting to be executed
is available. Amongst them, 6 are under 18 years of age (7%), 58 are between
the ages of 18 and 30 (71%), and 18 are between the ages of 31 and 50
(22%).
· The identity of 30 people is not known yet.
· Teheran, with 109 cases (69.5%) ranks first amongst the Iranian
cities.
· Furthermore, adding 76 more people who have already received
death penalty condemnations in the period preceding our Annual Report,
the total number of people who are on the waiting list will increase to
233.
To conclude, since the last reunion of the commission of the Human Rights
in the month of march 2005 in Geneva, 128 people (55% total of our list)
have either been executed (40/53%) have either been condemned to the death
penalty (88/56%).

At least 108 people were executed, often in public. The death penalty
was carried out on long-term political prisoners, apparently to intimidate
political or ethnic groups such as Kurds and Arabs..
